It is December my loves.
We're in the transformational stage of the year. That place which feels groundless and sometimes uncomfortable. No longer who we were, not yet who we will become. At best it can feel a bit awkward at this stage of the journey. At worst it can feel scary, like we are lost at sea.
But this is just par for the course of being human. While the transition tends to happen on its own, there are things we can do to guide the process along. The solar eclipse this weekend asks us to do just that.
It's a time for consciously taking stock of where we are and where we have been. To look at the beliefs, structures, habits, and relationships of our life to see what is actually nurturing us. No need to feel bad about things that have outgrown their use. Not everything is meant to last a lifetime.
In this space we can honor those parts of our life and graciously let them go. Or not. David Foster Wallace once said, "Everything I've ever let go of has claw marks on it." I certainly know that feeling -- and it is welcome too. We don't always have to be all light and love and positive vibes only about it.
We just need to be honest.
Because when we can do that, we honor every living thing in the system.
TRUTH = LOVE
I was thinking about this yesterday on a walk through the woods. How every living thing is in relationship with everything else. That we are all meant to be giving and receiving all the time, symbiotic with one another and the world.
It reminded me how humans have sort of forgot the balance, we started to give our energy away to things that do not actually feed us. We become tired, sick, depressed. We keep feeding those things. But the loop can end.
Look deeply into nature. Study the way. Let go of what is not feeding your body and soul, babe. The earth longs for you to remember this. She needs you to.
My wish for you is to drop deeply into the body, breathe a yummy belly breath, release the past, relinquish the future. Remember you are here.
You deserve to be loved. You deserve to be taken care of. You deserve to be the fully radiant being you are.
May you have the bravery, the strength, and the support to release what is no longer serving you at this eclipse. May you be happy and healthy and free.
